17 Jan 1974 – Enlisted in the Army’s Delayed Entry Program.

8 July 1974 to October 1994 – Received Basic Combat Training and Infantry Advanced Individual Training at Fort Polk LA. E1

November 1974 to May 1980 – Served at Fort Bragg NC as an Airborne Infantry Trooper and Special Operations Soldier. E2 to E6

May 1980 to June 1982 – Served at Fort Jackson SC as a Basic Training Drill Sergeant. E6 to E7

June 1982 to June 1984 – Served in Berlin Germany as a Mortar Platoon Leader and an Infantry Platoon Sergeant with the Berlin Brigade (when the Berlin wall was up). E7

June 1984 to July 1990 – Served at Fort Dix NJ as a Section Leader of a Readiness Group, NCOIC of Individual Tactics and Techniques and Firepower Demonstrations and First Sergeant of a Basic Training Company. E7 to E8

July 1990 to August 1993 – Served at Fort Chaffee AR as the First Sergeant of the Joint Readiness Training Center Headquarters Forward. E8 to E9

September 1993 to September 1995 – Served at Fort McPherson GA as the Third Army G3 Operations Sergeant’s Major. E9

September 1995 to August 1997 – Served in Wurzburg Germany as the 3rd Infantry Division and 1st Infantry Division’s G3 Sergeant’s Major. E9
