Effective July 1, 2022, E-filing will be Mandatory for all CIVIL filings.

Effective July 1, 2022 Magistrate Clerk’s office will no longer accept requests for
Sheriff Service. Sheriff Service on any civil filing will need to be filed directly
through the Sheriff’s Department.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Effective March 1, 2022, E-filing will be Mandatory for Attorneys for all Non-Criminal Cases.

Effective March 1, 2022, E-filing will be Mandatory for all Abandoned Motor Vehicle and Dispossessory Cases.

This office is not allowed to give any legal advice. To do so would be in violation of Georgia law (ocga 15-19-51(a)(4) & (6)) and punishable by paying a fine and/or serving time.

If you submit an extra copy of a document in order to have it file-stamped for your records, you must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Otherwise, the extra copy will not be returned to you.

E-filing is available 24/7 for civil cases.

Docket entries can be viewed online at Court Case Inquiry within 72 hours (NOTE: this link CANNOT be used to file a new Civil action)
This office will continue to accept any criminal or civil filing by US Mail.

Any information regarding an existing court case is also available on Clayton County’s website.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
