Senior Services

Clayton County Senior Services Department is dedicated to ‘changing the face of Aging’ for Clayton County residents! Our mission is to deliver services and programs that promotes independence and dignity and enhances the quality of life while providing a safe and caring environment for older adults, relative caregivers, and grandchildren.

Our Services

The Frank Bailey Senior Center in Riverdale and the J Charley Griswell Senior Center in Jonesboro offers an array of health and wellness activities, educational classes, arts and culture classes, and recreation opportunities for active older adults 55 and older. Membership fees apply.

The Kinship Care Resource Center, located in Jonesboro at the Shelnutt Inter-generational Center, provides support and services to grandparents raising grandchildren and other relative care in parent-absent homes. This is a great opportunity for those families raising their grandchildren, nieces, and/or nephews looking for assistance relating to tutoring, recreation, trips, and more.

For adults 60 and older in Clayton County, our Aging Program offers assistance in personal care, referral information, Meals on Wheels, and transportation. In addition, we have the Clayton Senior Adult Program, housed at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, which offers day recreation programs for adults 62 and older.  These services with the Aging Program are free of charge.
