Veteran of the Month, March 2024

Staff Sergeant Herbert L. Ward  


Herbert Ward has been a Senior, Veteran Service Officer (VSO)

Since 2003 for the Georgia Veterans Service. At the same time, he was the VFW, Assistant State Service Officer.

Herbert Ward enlisted in the US Marine Corps in October of 1978 and retired in August of 1999. 

His work history includes working for the Georgia Department of Labor and US Senator Max Cleveland’s office. Mr. Herbert Ward retired from the Georgia Veterans Service in September of 2022.

Herbert Ward now lives in Rex, Georgia with his wife of  47 years, two grown children, and two grown grandchildren.
