VITA Tax Prep

Many taxpayers could overlook important tax benefits because they don’t know about them. Don’t let this happen to you. VITA is a free program that allows you to get your taxes prepared and filed for free. The program is coordinated locally by volunteers from one or more community-based organizations. It's that time again! Applications for the 2022-23 Clayton County Youth Commission are open until March 31st. Applications are available online: https://claytoncountyforms.claytoncountyga.gov/youth-commission-application/ Below are the following requirements: • Be a resident of Clayton County. • Be a rising 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grader in public, private, charter, or home school. • Be willing to commit to at least one-year term of service on the Clayton County Youth Commission. • Be willing to serve on County boards and committees as appointed and attend all meetings of such boards and committees. • Be willing to participate in Clayton County Board of Commissioners sponsored service projects, programs and special events. • Be willing to attend and actively participate in all meetings, service projects and special events sponsored by the Youth Commission.

Board of Assessors Meeting

This board hears appeals from property owners regarding their assessments and works with the Tax Assessor’s Office. The board conducts its meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at: The Clayton County Board of Assessors Regular Scheduled Meeting will immediately follow the 9:00 a.m. Work Session. Meetings are open to the public. Changes in the scheduling of the meetings will be posted at least 24 hours in advance.
