Clayton Leads Wage Increases in National Labor Report and Demonstrates Remarkable Economic Growth
 
(Clayton County, GA)– The U.S. Bureau of Labor reports Clayton County as a front-runner in economic growth. A model for economic success, Clayton County boasts the largest 2023 over-the-year percentage increase in average weekly wages of +24.3 percent. Of the 360 largest counties, Clayton reports an impressive average weekly wage gain of $466 (+29.2 percent) in trade, transportation, and utilities making the largest contribution to the county’s increase in average weekly wages.
This achievement reflects the Clayton County Board of Commissioners commitment to economic development and signifies a prosperous future for its residents.
“We are excited to share Clayton County leads the pack among the largest counties in the country for average weekly wage increases,” said Chief Operations Officer Detrick Stanford. The focus of the U.S. Bureau of Labor report is on the County Changes for 2023 County Employment Wages, which highlights the series of remarkable milestones achieved by Clayton County over the past year.
“The Clayton County Board of Commissioners is committed to exploring, expanding, and elevating economic development matched with employment opportunities offering competitive wages to improve the quality of life,” added Chief Stanford.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report encompasses counties with an annual average employment of 75,000 or more in 2022.
