SPLOST Funded Network Infrastructure Replacement Project Underway

(Clayton County, GA)- The Department of Information Technology is installing equipment in preparation of Clayton County’s Network Infrastructure Replacement. The 2021 Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax (SPLOST) funded project will improve computer connection speeds, enhance security, and improve Wi-Fi performance.

The $2 million update will also improve cyber security protection of personal data and allow employees faster access to information while serving residents.

“Clayton County residents and visitors to our county will also benefit with improvements of our Wi-Fi speeds in locations such as libraries, recreation centers, and court offices,” said Chief Information Security Officer Brian Garrison.

The network infrastructure replacement project is expected to be complete by the end of 2024.
