Clayton County Digital Equity Celebrates 2023 Accomplishments

(Clayton County, GA) – Clayton County Office of Digital Equity thanks the citizens, communities, and partners for a successful year! The Digital Equity team has assisted 40 application and qualification for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), facilitation of 66 free digital skills trainings, and distribution of 207 FREE digital devices to residents.

Digital Equity addresses three divides within the county: access to affordable and reliable high-speed internet, access to digital skills, and access to digital services.

“It has been an amazing year for the Office of Digital Equity, ” said Digital Equity Administrator Takiyah Thomas. “We sat the bar high in 2023, and have our work cut out for us next year. We are looking forward to serving you in 2024, as we continue to close the digital divide in Clayton County one household at a time.”

“We commend the work and progress on behalf the Clayton County Board of Commissioners and Office of Digital Equity in the planning and execution of the trainings and events that benefit our citizens and help us close the digital divide in our county,” said Chief Operations Officer Detrick Stanford.

A special thank you to the Georgia Chapter of GMIS International for the Government to Citizens (G2C) award, GMIS International for the G2C award, the Georgia Technology Authority, the National Telecommunications and Administration (NTIA), and the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) for your support and making this year’s digital equity efforts successful.
