Board Sanctions District 3 Commissioner Felicia Franklin

(Clayton County, GA)- The Clayton County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to remove District 3 Commissioner Felicia Franklin as Vice Chair at a special-called Board of Commissioners meeting on Mon., Oct. 23, 2023, in line with Resolution 2023-239. Additionally, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners deemed the removal of Franklin as Vice Chair and additional sanctions in the best interest of the county citing behavior unbecoming of the position.

The Clayton County Board of Commissioners also unanimously voted to suspend two sections of the Board of Commissioners’ Standing Procedural Rules related to Commissioner Franklin’s board appointments and zoning recommendations. For the next twelve months, beginning Oct. 23, 2023, board appointments from District 3 will be on an at large basis and motions in zoning requests for District 3 will be initiated by the presiding officer.
