NEWS RELEASE
Clayton County to Implement New Brand Marketing Strategy with MARTA
(Jonesboro, GA)-The Clayton County Board of Commissioners Office of Communications is partnering with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) to increase awareness of the county’s new brand logo, tagline, “Cc: Clayton connected”, and marketing slogan, “Where the World Lands and Opportunities Take Off”. In line with the county’s strategic plan for improving communications and image, the Office of Communications is progressively working with MARTA to install bus and bench ads that feature the new brand, which tells the county’s story.
“We’re excited that strong partners, such as MARTA, continue to assist the County in our efforts to promote our image and brand,” said Chief Operating Officer Detrick Stanford. “When we consistently tell our story through words and messaging, the positive outcomes in our community resonates in new and innovative ways.”
The logo reflects prosperity, growth, and many other positive aspects influenced by Clayton County’s diverse population, proximity to major metropolitan assets, and global connectivity. Additionally, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners is committed to leveraging its strengths to attract businesses, potential residents and to increase and improve transit options.
“MARTA values the partnership we have with Clayton County and this new logo perfectly captures the growth opportunities available in our newest jurisdiction,” said MARTA General Manager Jeffrey A. Parker. “We are excited about the projects underway in Clayton and those about to take off from bus stop and shelter amenities, a transit hub at the Justice Center, and a new Operations and Maintenance facility. MARTA is proud to be part of one of metro Atlanta’s most vibrant and fast-growing counties.”
Incremental changes to the county’s identity systems, websites, social media profiles, signage and select vehicle fleet are underway. The overall marketing plan also includes future advertisement proposals for print, digital/social media, radio, commercials, billboards, and more.

About the Clayton County Brand Logo, Tagline and Marketing Slogan
The Clayton County Board of Commissioners approved the new brand logo, tagline, and marketing slogan in July 2020. It consists of a vibrant grid of colors inspired by Clayton County’s multi-cultural population. The globe-shaped logo signals Clayton County’s access to the world, and home of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest airport in the world.
The accompanying tagline, “Cc: Clayton connected”, demonstrates the County’s technological infrastructure by using the common email abbreviation “Cc:” as well as the physical connections the county has with metro Atlanta, which includes four interstate highways (I-85, I-285, I-75, I-675), 19 exits, and the world via the airport. It also illustrates the friendly environments manifested by the county’s seven municipalities (College Park, Forest Park, Jonesboro, Lake City, Lovejoy, Morrow, and Riverdale), which enables citizens to feel they are a part of a close, caring community in the midst of a large metropolitan area. Finally, the marketing slogan, “Where the World Lands and Opportunities Take Off”, complements the connected, global positioning.
