Board of Assessors Announce Mailing of 2018 Real Property Notices
On Friday, April 20, 2018, approximately 89,115 Real Property Notices were mailed to residential property owners.
Each notice includes the Fair Market Value for Ad Valorem Taxation for 2018, last year’s value, a return value if any, and an estimated tax bill using last year’s millage rate.
Anyone with questions concerning their valuation should contact the Tax Assessor’s Office between 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Historic Courthouse, P.K. Dixon Annex 2, 2nd Floor or by telephone at770-477-3285.
Appeals of the 2018 Valuation may be made in person or mailed no later than forty-five (45) days after the date of the notice.
This year the deadline will be Monday, June 4, 2018. The Board of Assessors does not have the authority to extend the appeal deadline.
