Office of Digital Equity celebrates Digital Inclusion Week
(Clayton County, GA) – The Clayton County Office of Digital Equity celebrates Digital Inclusion Week October 7-11, 2024, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about digital equity, increasing community engagement, and celebrating digital equity accomplishments. Join Clayton County leaders, residents, employees, and business owners in celebrating the 2nd Annual Office of Digital Equity Block Party eDrive on Sat., Oct. 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Technology Services & Training Center, located at 9181 Poston Road, Jonesboro, GA 30238.
The Office of Digital Equity Block Party is a FREE community event for all ages, with food, fun, music, and giveaways, including a free laptop giveaway of over 100 laptops! Residents MUST register in advance to attend and be in attendance at the time of the laptop giveaway to be able to win a free laptop. Residents and business owners will also be able to drop off old and unused computing devices to be refurbished and redistributed to families in need throughout the week.
“Clayton County is one of the first municipalities in the state to have an office dedicated to addressing the digital divide for its residents,” said Digital Equity Administrator, Takiyah Thomas. “We have set the bar high and hope to see other municipalities join us in this monumental task of closing the digital divide.”
Residents are invited to visit the Office of Digital Equity event page to register to attend Digital Inclusion Week events.
