Digital Equity and Compudopt to Host FREE Laptop Giveaway

(Clayton County, GA) – The Clayton County Office of Digital Equity offers a giveaway of 200 free laptops in partnership with Compudopt Atlanta on Mon., April 14, 2025. In a continuous effort to close the digital divide, the Digital Equity team works diligently to form partnerships to help provide the free and low-cost digital devices to eligible Clayton County residents.

Chief Operating Officer Detrick Stanford says, “The Clayton County Board of Commissioners is committed to providing and expanding access to digital resources for our residents, including affordable and reliable high-speed internet, technology, and digital skills.”

“We are so excited to have national non-profit partners like Compudopt, with an office located right here in Clayton County (Forest Park), that have a vested interest in the digital state of our community,” said Digital Equity Administrator Takiyah Thomas. “We look forward to continuing to work with Compudopt and new and existing partners to close the digital divide in Clayton County, one household at a time.”

Residents must meet the following qualifications for eligibility:
MUST be a Clayton County resident.
MUST have a school-aged child in the home (K-12).
MUST be in attendance on the day of the event to receive the device.
MUST register by Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
MUST NOT be a Clayton County employee.
MUST NOT currently own a working computer in the home.
MUST NOT have received a free device at a past Compudopt event.

Clayton County residents must register by accessing: https://tinyurl.com/Apr14LAPTOP. Eligible residents will be contacted via text or email to confirm the pickup of a free laptop while supplies last.
