CCPS Launches Governmental Alliance to Promote Student and Community Success

Sep 6, 2024

Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is pleased to announce the successful hosting of the first Governmental Alliance Meeting of the 2024-2025 school year. The event, co-chaired by Dr. Douglas Hendrix Sr., Senior Deputy Superintendent-Chief of Staff for CCPS, and Mr. Detrick Stanford, Chief Operating Officer for Clayton County, took place on August 28, 2024, at the S. Truett Cathy Professional Learning Center in Jonesboro, Georgia. The meeting brought together a diverse coalition of stakeholders from government, education, community, and faith-based sectors, all united by a common goal: to help shape the future of every student within the Clayton County School District.

The Governmental Alliance aims to create equitable educational opportunities, foster community engagement, and inspire lifelong success for all students. As the event’s moderator, Dr. Ebony Lee, Chief of Communications, highlighted that each participating entity plays a crucial role in realizing the CCPS Portrait of a Graduate, which reflects the skills and dispositions needed for today’s workforce and as a contributing community member. Dr. Douglas Hendrix Sr. further emphasized, “Together, we will ensure that every learner achieves their full potential and contributes meaningfully to a thriving, inclusive society.”
