SNAP Education
SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps). It is part of the U.S. domestic hunger safety net and provides economic benefits to eligible, low-income individuals and families for food purchases.
We provide Georgians with free ideas on keeping healthy by making nutritious food choices on a budget. Our outreach includes in-person and online classes, social marketing, and policy, systems, and environment interventions (PSE) across the state.
SNAP Education (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education) is the nutrition promotion and obesity prevention component of SNAP.
We have a collection of low-cost, healthy SNAP recipes. States provide nutrition education and obesity prevention interventions for low-income people who are eligible for SNAP or other means-tested Federal assistance programs.
If interested in attending a Food Talk class or signing up for newsletters with recipes. Check out the Food Talk and select the top tab: “Attend A Class” Contact staff members for any questions.
