Judge Latrevia Kates-JohnsonLatrevia Kates Johnson was appointed to the Magistrate Court of Clayton County by the Honorable Chief Judge Keisha Wright Hill in December of 2020.   Judge Kates Johnson received her Bachelor’s degree from Morris Brown College in 2001 and her Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School 2006.

In 2007, Judge Kates Johnson started Kates & Associates now known as Kates Law Firm which grew into a remarkably successful practice.  Her practice focused primarily on Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Personal Injury.

Her community involvement & memberships include Lawyers Club of Atlanta, Georgia Association of Women Lawyer (GAWL), former Board Member of Clayton County Land Bank, former Board Member of Clayton County Marriage & Family Initiative, former member Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, former member Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
