Clayton County Prison

The Clayton County Prison is an integral part of the State of Georgia Prison System. This Prison houses only State of Georgia convicted prison inmates and works very closely with the Georgia Department of Corrections.

The current authorized capacity of the Prison is 258 inmates. Inmates are mainly classified as minimum and medium risk inmates. The difference being that minimum-security inmates can work under trained civilian supervision. The remaining inmates are classified as medium-security and work directly under the watchful eyes of Corrections Officers outside or inside the Prison.
