Clayton County, Georgia, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status in administration of its programs or activities, and Clayton County does not intimidate or retaliate against any individual or group because they have exercised rights protected by federal law or for the purpose of interfering with such rights.

Clayton County, Georgia is responsible for coordination of compliance efforts and receipt of inquiries concerning nondiscrimination requirements implemented by numerous federal statutes and executive orders to include, but not be limited to, 40 C.F.R. Parts 5 and 7 (Non-Discrimination in Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Assistance from the Environmental Protection Agency), including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 13 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972. Clayton County complies with Federal civil rights laws and is committed to providing its programs and services without discrimination in accordance with the laws and regulations mentioned above.

When Clayton County distributes federal aid funds to another governmental entity, Clayton County will include Civil Rights Policy language in all written agreements and will monitor for compliance.

Clayton County’s Civil Rights Coordinator is responsible for initiating and monitoring Civil Rights activities, preparing required reports and other Clayton County responsibilities as required by Federal Laws and Regulations.
