Clayton County Board of Commissioners to Host Trash Amnesty Days

(Clayton County, GA)- (Clayton County, GA)-The Clayton County Board of Commissioners is offering trash amnesty days on March 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th with the Clayton County Corrections Department leading the initiative. The service offered on these four days is of no charge to Clayton County residents. These free waste disposal days are used by communities across the county to clean up neighborhoods and give residents the opportunity to properly dispose of trash.

“We applaud the Board of Commissioners in addressing enhanced service or offer amenities that will contribute to positive community life for all our citizens,” said Chief Operations Officer Detrick Stanford. “Trash amnesty days will help achieve this goal.”

The Trash Amnesty schedule is as follows:

Location: 3199 Anvil Block Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294

District 1 Time

Friday, March 11, 2022 12 pm – 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 12, 2022 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: 6131 Riverdale Road, Riverdale, GA 30274

District 2 Time

Friday, March 11, 2022 12 – 6 p.m.
Saturday, March 12, 2022 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: 153 Flint River Road. Riverdale, GA 30274

District 3: Time

Friday, March 18, 2022 12 – 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 19, 2022 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: 1303 Government Circle, Jonesboro, GA 30236

District 4: Time

Friday, March 18, 2022 12 – 6 p.m.

Saturday, March 12 &19, 2022 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

*NOTICE: FREE landfill trash disposal for Clayton County residents on the scheduled amnesty days only. The $75 per ton with $40 minimum landfill fee will be effective for all other days.

Residents will enter through the main entrance at each site location to receive direction on how and where to unload vehicles.

Residents are responsible for unloading their own trash at the district locations. Residents will have assistance unloading their trash at the landfill.

Eligible Trash Amnesty Identification Requirements:

Clayton County resident verification by current motor vehicle tag
Resident must show their Clayton County driver’s license if the vehicle is not registered in Clayton County
Current Property tax or utility bill showing the driver’s name and address

Non-Acceptable Items:

No Materials that contain asbestos
No Hazardous waste
No Flammable materials, or empty containers that say flammable materials
No Automobile batteries, or rechargeable batteries
No Cathode Ray Tube T.V.s
No Liquids of any kind
No Medical waste
No Tires
