The Clayton County Landfill accepts and disposes of waste from
Clayton County and surrounding area according to E.P.D. Standards.
The Landfill is also responsible for funding and operating the
Clayton County Recycling Drop Off
Center located at 1430 Hwy 138, Jonesboro,
Georgia and the Processing Center located at 11650 SLR Blvd.,
Lovejoy, Georgia The Clayton County Landfill does not receive tax
money. We are funded by the money we generate.
Effective July 1, 2005, the landfill rates are as follows:

We CAN NOT accept liquids or hazardous material
as a Subtitle D Landfill. No asbestos materials are accepted.
We can accept paint cans if the cans are empty or the paint
is dried up - No Paint can be accepted in liquid form.
All household waste, household furnishings, appliances and
commercial waste are accepted.
We accept all yard waste including stumps and tree limbs. Leaves
do not have to be bagged.
If you should need assistance, county inmates are usually on
site to assist you.
Trash will need to be separated when you get here. We will
accept a check from a business once an application is filled out
and approved ahead of time. All other loads are cash.

The following items are accepted at the Recycling Drop Off
Center in Jonesboro.
Glass (clear, brown and green);- Plastic (#1 and #2);
- Cardboard;
- Aluminum Cans;
- Newspaper Magazines;
- Phone Books
We have wood chips that are available at no charge.
The Center cannot accept the following
items:
Egg Cartons, Mirrors, Light Bulbs, Window Glass, Drinking Glass,
Ceramics, Heat Resistant Ovenware, Crystal, Plastic Bags, or Paper
Bags.
