The goals of the Clayton County CTP stakeholder
and public outreach program include maintaining early and timely
contact with the general public, government agencies, business
owners, and other interested stakeholders throughout the planning
process; helping the community understand the impacts of land use
and transportation choices on the lives of residents; and raising
awareness and understanding of the relationship between
transportation improvements, increased connectivity, transit use,
economic vitality, safety and quality of life.

Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC)
The Clayton County CTP
Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) is comprised of elected
officials, transportation, environmental, civic, and business
organizations, residents and property owners, transportation
providers, environmental justice organizations, the media, and
other interested groups and individuals as identified through the
outreach process or as interest is shown during plan
development.

These meetings were designed as an opportunity for the public to
review the existing transportation system conditions in Clayton
County, to identify opportunities for improvement to the system,
and to help provide guidance in the prioritization of the County's

The CTP development was the featured presentation at the
Clayton Chamber of Commerce Early Bird Breakfast meeting on January
24, 2008. The meeting was held at Clayton State University,
Continuing Education building, 5900 North Lee Street, Morrow,
Georgia beginning at 7:15 am The audience was anticipated to be
75-100 local business and community leaders.
- CTP Focus Group
A focus group comprised of a diverse representation of
Clayton County citizens was held the morning of Saturday, December
8 at the Jim Huie Recreation Center in Jonesboro. The two hour
session yielded a great deal of information that will be utilized
by the study team in the development of the CTP.
