Public safety involves the prevention of and protection from
events that could endanger the safety of the general public from
significant danger, injury/harm, or damage, such as crimes or
disasters (natural or man-made).
The Clayton County Police Department is the
primary responder for all calls for police services within the
unincorporated areas of Clayton County. With over 75 years of
service as a county police force, CCPD is proud of their reputation
as a progressive police department and demand the best of all of
our employees.
Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services is
committed to protecting the people and property within the
community. They are responsive to the needs of our citizens by
providing rapid, professional, humanitarian services essential to
the health, safety, and well-being of the community.
The Clayton County Sheriff's Office is
responsible for the safety of the community, making sure that
certain things occur in their jurisdictions, such as carrying out
court orders, as well as management and security for the Clayton
County Jail. They ensure that community service is complete as well
as enforcing sentencing to varying degrees of people who have been
convicted of various crimes.
