Getting Started with the Training Program
Registration - To get
the full benefit from our training, participates must register for
the classes that are specially designed for their employee
classification. We are available to answer questions concerning
training dates, classes, and provide and/or forward training
registration forms from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
County employees wishing to register
for training classes should contact their immediate supervisor
before signing up.
Outside agencies wishing to register employees should
contact Pamela R. Ambles at (770) 477-3239.
Cancellations - To maximize training
opportunities for employees awaiting a training seat, we request
cancellation notice as soon as possible for those employees that
will not be attending as registered.
Training - Our training will normally begin
promptly and end in accordance with established schedule. We
suggest arriving at the training site at least ten minutes in
advance. Once at the site, ensure that your name is annotated on
the training sign-in-sheet. Also, arriving early will allow you to
look through the materials in advance and give you a few minutes to
relax and get ready for a terrific learning experience. We will
provide a break during the training so you'll have the opportunity
to keep in touch with the office and/or make any personal calls
without missing a moment of your training.
Lunch - We do not provide a meal, but we will
allow you a lunch break. The instructor will inform you of the time
you are to break and the time to return. Many of our participants
use the time to get to know other attendees better, talk about what
they've learned, and network over a sandwich.
Locations - Most of our training is conducted
at the Human Resources Training Center. There are other times when
training will be conducted on the site of the requesting
department. The County provides free parking for employees
attending training held on county facilities.
New Employee Orientation Training - Orientation
begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. You will be
released for an hour break for lunch at 12:00 noon.

development training are county property and may not be used
