We Keep Clayton Rolling
Fleet Maintenance obtains an
impressive record of keeping more than 1,393 county vehicles in
service in order to serve Clayton County citizens. This includes
all Police, Sheriff, Transportation & Development,
Fire/Emergency Medical Services, Landfill equipment, and various
other departments throughout the county. With a staff of only 5
Heavy Equipment Mechanics, 7 Senior Mechanics, 1 Parts Manager, and
1 Parts Assistant, with Mickey Murphy as the Shop Foreman. Wendy
Landers is the Administrative Secretary, and Miyoshi Griffin is the
Environmental Specialist.
Service Station
The Fleet Maintenance Department is
also responsible for the fueling system on all county vehicles.
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), gasoline and diesel fuel are all
available through the county service station located at 1347
Government Circle in Jonesboro. 770-477-3759. All vehicles are run
on a gas "key" system, unless other arrangements have been made.
The service station is staffed by Thomas Worthan.
Garage hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. until
4:30 p.m.
