Advance voting is designed to meet the
needs of today's busy Georgians. This Georgia Law offers you a
great solution when you can't vote absentee and allows it to fit
into your business schedule.
Previously, Georgia election law
permitted you to cast an absentee ballot only if you met certain
specific requirements. With advance voting you may choose to vote
in person before Election Day simply as a matter of convenience.
Advance voting allows any registered voter to cast a ballot
IN PERSON at the county voter registration office
or at one of the satellite locations Monday
through Friday of the week prior to an election from 8:00 a.m.
until 7:00 p.m.
How Advance Voting Works
Simply fill out an application at the Board of Elections and
Registration Office or one of the satellite locations and provide
one of the permitted forms of identification. You will
be issued a ballot to cast right there on site. It's that
simple!
Please note that you cannot advance vote on the Monday
immediately preceding the Tuesday election. Traditional
polling places will be open on Election Day. However if
you choose to Advance Vote, you cannot cast another ballot at your
precinct on Election Day.
