The Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2017-71 “A MORATORIUM ON THE ACCEPTANCE OF ALL APPLICATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT OR BUILDING PERMITS FOR REVIEW AND CONSIDERATOIN BY THE CLAYTON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE MOUNTAIN VIEW TAX ALLOCATION DISTRICT NUMBER 5.”

Resolution 2017-71 further states that zoning related permits applications, sign applications and variance applications are included under this moratorium and shall not be accepted at this time. The moratorium shall remain in effect through March 31, 2018.

The Planning & Zoning Division implements the County's Zoning
Ordinance; Subdivision Ordinance; Tree Protection Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan, and sub area plans that impact the built environment; Process applications for all land-use plan amendments, rezoning, variances, special permits, appeal and other requests that are required under the Zoning Ordinance and issues Zoning Determinations.

The Board of Commissioners adopted the present Zoning Schedule to
accommodate additional review requirements under the Clayton County Zoning Ordinance. The Technical Review Committee (TRC) processes all zoning, plat and plan applications.

Notice of a Special Call Meeting for the Adoption of Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Map

The Board of Commissioners for Clayton County, Georgia, will hold a work session to consider the adoption of the amendments to the Official Zoning Ordinance and Map at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 and a Special Call meeting at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Commissioners’ Board Room of the Clayton County Administration Building, 112 Smith Street, Jonesboro, Georgia.

Copies of the proposed amendments are also available for public inspection at the Community Development Department, P. K. Dixon Building, Annex 2, 121 South McDonough Street, Jonesboro, Georgia.

The public is invited to attend and speak at the hearings, pursuant to the procedures in the Zoning Ordinance. Written comments may also be submitted before the hearings to the Community Development Department, P. K. Dixon Building, Annex 2, 121 South McDonough Street, Jonesboro, Georgia.
