About Michael Edmondson

Since moving to Clayton County in 1998, Michael
Edmondson has been an active member of the community. He graduated
Leadership Clayton in 2000 and later joined its Advisory Board,
including two terms as Chairman. In 2002, he received the Clayton
County Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Award as volunteer of the
year. Mr. Edmondson has spent over a decade as member of Rotary
International, including terms as Treasurer and President of the
Rotary Club of Lake Spivey. He is a former Treasurer for Keep
Clayton County Beautiful, Inc., served on the board of his own Lake
Jodeco Homeowners Association and was the inaugural Treasurer of
Lake Spivey Community, Inc. In 2009, Governor Sonny Perdue
appointed Commissioner Michael Edmondson to the Circuit Public
Defender's Office Supervisory Panel.
Commissioner Edmondson received his Bachelor
of Arts in Economics and Government from The University of Texas at
Austin in 1994. He completed the Certified Financial
PlannerTM curriculum through Oglethorpe
University in 2003 and currently holds the
CFP® designation. He completed
the International Economic Developer Council's CEcD certification
program through Georgia Tech in 2009. Professionally, he offers
financial planning and investment services through one of the
nation's largest and oldest financial
institutions.
Vice-Chairman Edmondson, his wife, Karen, and
their three children live in the Lake Spivey area of unincorporated
Clayton County.
