Change Your Life Day

On April 24, 2010, the Solicitor's Office, the District Attorney's Office and the University of Phoenix cosponsored Change Your Life Day.The event was held at the Eula Wilborn Ponds Perry Center for Learning on Spring St. in Jonesboro from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. This was our effort to encourage and support youths and adults in the community by providing the needed tools to make sustainable changes and to build new beginnings. Various speakers discussed their life experiences, strategies they used to make positive life changes, implementing life plans and entrepreneurialisim.

National Crime Victims' Rights Week

Solicitor's Office celebrates April 18-24, 2010, as National Crime Victims' Rights Week. This year's theme, "Crime Victims' Rights: Fairness, Dignity, Respect," reminds us of the core rights that all crime victims want and deserve-the right to be treated fairly and with dignity and respect.

 

Ambassadors Behind CASA Award Ceremony

The Ambassadors Behind CASA is a membership organization of volunteers whose purpose it is to provide service to the Clayton County CASA Program as a partner to The Friends of Clayton County CASA, Inc. by increasing community awareness of CASA, supporting, developing, and implementing fundraising initiatives, and sponsoring activities for the children advocated for by CASA.

 

Read America - March 2010

Ms. Mosley read to children at a local schools in celebration with NEA's Read Across America Day. NEA's national reading celebration takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books. www.nea.org/readacross/

 

Career Day

Ms Mosley addresses students at local school on Career Day. This event is held annually to expose kids to fascinating, and cool careers and opens their minds to exciting worlds they may not normally see. This event is dedicated to inspiring the dreams in all of us while instilling the importance of a good education. www.clayton.k12.ga.us

 

City of Riverdale Christmas with a Cop 2009

Solicitor's Office participated in this program that gives families who have faced a traumatic crime or fire related incident or have fallen on difficult times, a day of holiday fun, sharing and togetherness. The event is held annually each December. www.riverdalega.gov
