The Clayton County Solicitor General's Office prosecutes
misdemeanor offenses under the leadership of Tasha M. Mosley in the
State Court of Clayton County. Misdemeanors are those crimes which
may carry a maximum sentence of 12 months in jail and/or $1000
fine. Cases falling under the jurisdiction of the Solicitor General
come to the office multiple ways including misdemeanor warrants
issued by the Magistrate Court of Clayton County, and traffic
citations issued by the Clayton County Police Department and
Georgia State Patrol.
The Solicitor General's Office also handles cases transferred
from the Clayton County District Attorney's Office and municipal
courts within the county.
Staff
The staff includes 12 prosecutors, 5 investigators, 7
victim-witness advocates, 5 legal assistants, 3 accusation
specialists, an Office Manager, and a Pre-Trial Diversion
Coordinator. The office has five trial divisions and a Domestic
Violence Unit.
