The Senior
Services Dept. Aging Program Advisory Board is hosting a Spaghetti
Dinner to raise funds for the Meals-on-Wheels program.
The fund-raiser is scheduled for Friday, October 21, 2011 at the
J Charley Griswell Senior Center in Jonesboro from 6:00 pm until
9:00 pm. During dinner, there will be live entertainment and door
prize drawings. If you can't stay, carry out meals are also
available. Cost of dinner is ten dollars ($10).
The Meals on Wheels program provides a hot lunch 5 days a week
to home-bound Clayton County individuals who are not able to
prepare a balanced meal for themselves. These meals are delivered
daily by Senior Services staff as well as a host of volunteers from
other county departments and outside organizations. All proceeds
received will be used to ensure all participants can continue to
receive a nutritious meal and allow us to start meals for the
seniors on our waiting list.
