Hartsfield-Jackson to host Concessions Industry Day

Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337

The City of Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will dedicate a full day to sharing information with business owners and the public about the Airport's upcoming requests for proposals (RFPs) for concessions contracts.

Concessions Industry Day will be Wednesday, January 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337. Representatives from the City of Atlanta's offices of Contract Compliance, Procurement and Risk Management and from the Department of Aviation's Concessions and Planning & Development units will provide businesses with details about the process and will answer questions.

The Airport will issue RFPs in February for retail concessions on Concourse E and in the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal (scheduled to open in spring 2012). There also will be RFPs for food and beverage concessions on concourses T, A, B, C and D, in the Atrium and in the new international terminal.

Concessions Industry Day will include an overview of the RFP process; a discussion of program goals, structure and timelines; and feedback from attendees.

Draft copies of the RFPs are available for review on the Airport's website. Go to www.atlanta-airport.com/Business/DoingBusiness/concessions_bids_opportunites.aspx or, from the Airport's home page (http://www.atlanta-airport.com/), go to the "Business Information" menu, select "Doing Business With the Airport" and choose "Concessions Bid Opportunities" from the left-side menu.

For more information, call (404) 270-7340.
